Welcome Home is a piece written for Project 111 Ensemble and mixes elements from Spanish traditions as flamenco and harmonies from the jazz world.

Falling Down is a piece written for the Codarts Contemporary Big Band, and mixes elements from the groove and the contemporary classical world.

The guitar soloist will be Aart Strootman.

One Branch Is Broken Off  (Premiere)  -  15/05/2021  -  New Luxor Theather

This piece, written for a Wagnerian symphonic orchestra,  is part of the grand finale of "Ring of Resilience" opera by Aarlon Luijten. 

 

"The final ark will be built and launched in the Nieuwe Luxor Theater on May 21 and 22. What will the future bring? Are we really prepared for anything? In the water!is a spectacular opera performance

with live music, exciting dance, a children's choir, Wagner's opera, poetry, fabulous costumes, fire and water. The performance is by about 80 dancers from ballet schools in Rotterdam and the Havo for Music

and Dance and an orchestra with about a hundred students from Codarts. There is also an ensemble of pedigree Rotterdammers in all shapes and sizes and from all neighbourhoods. They are the

'exodus people' that try to flee from 'the water that comes'. If that doesn't seem to work anymore, there is only one thing left to do: they try to turn into gods. 

Gods who can avert disaster, or are ready for the new world..."
